Alex Cluck Pottery

Alex: Manheim, Pennsylvania, United States; I love pottery (ceramics), (off and on since I was a child, same with painting/drawing) but I was first introduced to wheel throwing in 2008 at a group ceramic studio in Manheim, PA and spent almost 8 years there (I'm no longer there). Later took part in community wood kiln firings at Baltimore Clayworks. I was a passenger in a car accident in 2016 and have been struggling to make artwork how I used to. I have transitioned all my art making to my basement in Manheim. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area of Pa and moved out to Manheim with my parents after I graduated high school and spent a little more than a year taking fine arts painting and drawing classes at PCAD in Lancaster city. Majority all of my vessels were fired to cone 10-11 in a Noborigama wood kiln @ Baltimore Clayworks, or a gas kiln there. Because of my poor health I have transitioned mostly into making small hand carved porcelain pendants that I fire in my electric kiln at home with commercial glazes to cone 5-6, hopefully 10 at some point. I still wish to get back to wood firing and being social but I am basically an invalid.
